I’ve got my winter coat. I’ve got my Big Turk.
(Note: no negative comments about Big Turks will be tolerated on this blog. This is a Big Turk-positive website, thankyouverymuch)

I’ve also got my seat on a VIA train, from which I’m typing at this very moment. It’s grey and nasty out there, all that dormant winter vegetation obscured by a light confetti of snow – but that’s okay because I’m headed on a true Canadian winter adventure. This is the The Polar Express, analog version.

For the next four days, I’ll be succumbing to Montreal’s iciest embrace. There will be snowshoeing, skating, tubing and sleeping in a real ice hotel. Heck, I may even eat a popsicle, just to take things to the next level.
So stay tuned!
But first, I want you to let me in on your Montreal faves. Tell me about that restaurant that blew your mind. Lead me to the best bagel. Drop the name of that perfect boutique (that perfectly affordable boutique). Does your aunt make a mean poutine? Gimme her address.
Don’t forget that, although I delight in discovering the latest and greatest spots, I have an equal appreciation for clichés and traditions.
