Everything Retro Road Trip

The Retro Road Trip was a 14-day journey along the Trans Canada Highway from Toronto to Victoria. Instead of stopping at predictable chain restaurants and cookie-cutter hotels, Billy and I did it 1950′s style: local and independent. Often, this approach resulted in delightful surprises. Other times, it led us straight to dodgy/pain-inducing food. But either way, we got to see the places that truly give a town character, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We also skirted the major cities, opting instead to park our car and our dollars at lesser-known places like Wawa, Portage-la-Prairie and Revelstoke.

Thanks Veronica! It took about two weeks, because we were stopping so much and I had a lot of work to do. You could easily do it faster, although it’s nice to meander!
